Iizuka (Kobayashi Kaoru), an indecisive civil servant working at the cultural center in Mitama Town, a provincial city, is a do-nothing type of person. A major incident strikes him on the morning of December 30th, when a phone call reveals a double booking for New Year's Eve. He's confused the similar-sounding groups "Mitama Ladies Chorus" and "Mitama Town Chorus Girls," and left the situation unresolved for six months. Naturally, the two chorus groups, both looking forward to the New Year's Eve concert, refuse to budge. Even Iizuka, as expected of irresponsible people, begins to panic and runs around trying to resolve the issue somehow...
